The 4th NCKU Electrical Engineering Forum, focused on "Cross-Domain Integration of Electrical Engineering and Smart Healthcare"
On November 8, the 4th NCKU Electrical Engineering Forum kicked off with a focus on "Cross-Domain Integration and Applications of Electrical Engineering and Smart Healthcare," held at the Sun Huei Lecture Hall. Five distinguished speakers from industry, academia, and research explored various topics such as healthcare, scientific research, and AI technology development. NCKU President Meng-Ru Shen delivered the opening speech and led the first session on "Digital Health." Other speakers included Min-Chiu Wu, Chairman of Macronix, Chih-Hung Chen, Chairman of BenQ Qisda, Chia-Yuan Chang, CTO and VP of Quanta Computer, Zhi-Long Lin, Distinguished Professor at NCKU, and Chuan-Teh Chang, Global VP of ASUS.
Founded by Min-Chiu Wu in 2021, the forum aims to foster industry-academia collaboration and talent development. This year's topic reflects the growing potential for integrating semiconductor technology with healthcare, facilitating advancements in the sector. The forum also highlighted Taiwan’s strategic role in the development of AI for healthcare.
In his speech, President Shen emphasized the importance of AI autonomy in healthcare and the creation of a national health data system. He believes that Taiwan’s advancements in AI could lead to significant contributions to AI research and applications. Other speakers discussed the importance of AI in transforming healthcare and the need for large-scale data integration to make these technologies truly effective. The event concluded with a lively alumni reunion, showcasing innovative student projects and fostering further collaboration between academia and industry.
